Humanities Texas invites you to its second annual Holiday Book Fair at the historic Byrne-Reed House next Saturday, Dec. 11. “Forget about that fruitcake”, says Humanities Texas Executive Director Michael L. Gillette. “Here is a great opportunity to buy terrific autographed books as gifts.”
Twenty-seven noteworthy authors will take part in the event, including H. W. Brands, S. C. Gwynne, Don Carleton, John Phillip Santos, Naomi Shihab Nye, Bill Hobby, Jacqueline Kelly, Emily Fox Gordon, Bill Wittliff, Emilio Zamora, James Haley, Alison Macor, Tiffany Gill, Max Sherman, Steven Weinberg, Elizabeth S. D. Engelhardt, Diana Welch, Debra Monroe, Barbara Ras, Monica Perales, Steven Boyd, Mary Volcansek, Gregory Curtis, Light Cummins, Jesus F. de la Teja, Lucas A. Powe Jr., and Carolyn Osborn. There will be no formal presentations or readings, but guests are invited to visit with the authors and have their books signed.
All profits will benefit the Smith-Welch Memorial Library in Hearne and the Peñitas Public Library. Coffee will be served along with a bake sale which will also benefit the libraries.
