Texas Teen Book Festival Announces Lineup

By Jennifer Murphy, August 2, 2017, 8:00am, All Over Creation

The Texas Teen Book Festival announced the authors for its ninth celebration of young adult literature. This year's lineup? Thirty-eight authors ranging from "high fantasy to high tech to high drama,” says the TTBF Programming Director Meghan Goel. Expect the festival to have something for every kind of YA book-lover.

TTBF will feature New York Times bestselling author Adam Silvera and his book They Both Die at the End, E. Lockhart’s psychological suspense novel Genuine Fraud, Stephanie Perkins' There’s Someone Inside Your House, and more.

But the YA delights don’t end there. There are sessions and panels, including one of the panels presented by Fierce Reads, a Young Adult initiative started by Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group. Fierce Reads will present authors Mitali Perkins, Caleb Roehrig, Anna-Marie McLemore, and Jennifer Mathieu.

In a previous announcement, TTBF confirmed their keynote speakers for the event: Mayim Bialik (actress, neuroscientist, and author of Girling Up: How to Be Strong, Smart and Spectacular), Marie Lu (#1 New York Times bestselling author), and Jason Reynolds (author of narrative verse novel Long Way Down).

The Texas Teen Book Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 7, from 8:30am to 6:30pm at St. Edward’s University and is free to the public.
