Jon Dore's TV show on IFC. Jon Dore's appearance on CBS' How I Met Your Mother. Jon Dore as the first featured comedian on TBS' Conan! Who is this guy? A household name in Canada – due to Canadian Idol. But to hell with Canada, he's here in Austin this week.
The Jon Dore Television Show on the Independent Film Channel was America's first date with Dore. While many viewers rushed out for testing, a few – like myself – stayed true. His absurdist, sardonic humor won me over. Like a drunken Sarah Silverman, he brilliantly takes the taboo and mines comic gold.
His four-night run at Cap City Comedy Club (8120 Research #100) began Wed., Aug. 3, and continues through Sat., Aug. 6. Shows 8pm, Thu.-Sat., with additional 10:30pm performances on Friday and Saturday.
