Gay Place: Twinkle!

Last year, the rain, rain, rain made a lot of queers go away and the inaugural Stargayzer Festival raged on despite the downpour. This year, the all-LGBTQIA musical freeq show comes to town, so get ready to freeq. And fret not, organizers have got you covered, literally at three local clubs – one for each night of the fest. To wit:

STARGAYZER THURSDAY Double Duchess, DJ Rekha, Normaling, Fee Lion, Magna Carda, Fantasy aka Stanley Roy, and Rebecca Havemeyer. Thu., Oct. 15, 8pm. Elysium, 705 Red River.

MIGHTY REAL: SALAAM E ISHQ NYC producer, curator, educator, and Bhangra boss, DJ Rekha (Basement Bhangra™, Bollywood Disco, Mutiny Club) throws it down in the third of this series on queer nightlife. Thu., Oct. 15, 1:30-3:15pm. Belo Center for New Media, Rm. 5.102, 300 W. Dean Keeton.

ATXQ Austin Texas Queer Kink (ATXQ) is exactly what it sounds like: all genders and sexualities under one big sticky, munchy umbrella. Join FetLife or contact via email for details. Thu., Oct. 15. Locations disclosed to members. Free socials; $15 for play party.,

LOVE ALONE Life after the love and loss of a partner is explored in this Austin premiere of the Deborah Salem Smith play. Through Oct. 18. Thu.-Sat., 8pm; Sun., 3pm. City Theatre, 3823-D Airport, 512/524-2870. $15-25; Thursdays, $10.

GET LUCKY Give Lady Luck a little smooch at this casino night fundraiser for the 2016 North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) gay softball world series hosted right here in A-town next summer.
