Gay Place: A New Outfit

Meet Rob Townsend ... Again

Gay Place: A New Outfit

Who came first, the chicken or the chicken hawk? When young Rob Townsend first made his name in this town as songwriting singer for Belleville Outfit, were the roots he was showing what was really underneath, or was he, as so many young musicians, simply exploring genres expected, while tamping down the cute li'l dance music popster within? Hmmm, either way, some great music is what happens when he opens his mouth. This time out, it's just a li'l more out, a li'l more Scissor Sisters, Robin Thicke, Mark Ronson/Bruno Mars, even Elton John. Celebrate his coming out, of sorts, with 10-piece band, this Friday at Threadgill's HQ then on Saturday for gAyCL.
