YOUR GRIN = MY SUNSHINE

Friends of the Gay Place, local club Cheer Up Charlie's recently relocated to the Red River district from their original home on East Sixth. Last night, they and next door neighbors Mohawk were front line to the tragedy that occurred when two people were killed and many more injured when a vehicle speeding away from the police broke through the street's festival barricades and left a trail of tears and mayhem. Here's a shout out to all of our friends along the Red River corridor and to all of you beauties out celebrating music, and movies, and life. Stay frosty, sweethearts. We want you back tomorrow, next week, next year. (And cheer up, sweet Charlie.)

Hey! We like you: Write us! gayplace@austinchronicle.com. And for (as Andrea True said) more, more, more: austinchronicle.com/gay.
