What doesn’t our GP krewe do?

GAY PLACE BLOGGERS ALL UP IN IT Can we just brag on our kids for a second? By way of apology/excuse for not blogging as much as we should, we're just gonna lay out for you the various and myriad talents, regular events, and doings of our Gay Place Blog Krewe, just this month, because really, if we posted their entire résumés, you'd not believe us and probably think we were being assholes (more than we already are). Andy Campbell, when not teaching art history at UT Austin and Texas State, improvs with the 3$ Bills comedy troupe and this week can be seen in the Austin sneak peek of Kyle Henry's soon-to-be-at-Cannes Fourplay: Tampa. Julie Gillis, on a week when there is no Bedpost Confessions, is (wo)manning the LAFF Fest (see Arts Listings). Nakia is on national broadcast TV this week on the debut of NBC's The Voice. Episodes air on Tuesdays (and our favorite bear is on hiatus from all other media until the season concludes). Frank Rivera is a bon vivant. Rob Cohen is a budding rock star. Jimmy D is in Kings N Things. TheGlitoris is world renowned for Tuezgays at Barbarella. DJ BJ spins at Lipstick24. Yours Truly, Kate X, has been DJing and will be spinning at Randi Shade's Big Gay Birthday Party. New kid and ace newsie Daniel Villareal lives in Dallas and visits Austin as an honorary Austinite as frequently as he can. And our resident artist (whose work will be more apparent after some summer redesigning) Lindsey Taylor is prancing about in Little Stolen Moments. If you see us out and about, come say hi. If you don't, where the heck are you hiding?

PRIDE BOMB We aren't intentionally staying silent about QueerBomb and Austin Pride. We're just pulling something cohesive together for next week. QB happens during the traditional weekend of Austin Pride, the first weekend of June and is shaping up to be totally nuts. Pride 2011 is happening in September. We had a cordial sit-down with the new prez and secretary of Austin Gay and Lesbian Pride Foundation. Details of our conversation? Patience, grasshopper, patience. Stay tuned.

The Gay Place loves you; keep those cards and letters comin’.
