GAY PLACE Q.0 Talk about your growth industry – the
Gay Place Blog has been blowing up good and proper with new blog features and bloggers, and we aren't quite finished bustin' at the seams just yet. We've been hard at work, launching new regular columns, including our Monday
News AggreGAYte, Tuesday's
'Mo Music, featuring roundups from local DJs,
Hump (Our Allies) Wednesdays, Thursday
Biznasty, and
Friday Blingee. A month or so ago, we introduced you to our new bloggers,
Rob,
Julie, and
Jimmie D. Since then, we've added a few DJs to the Tuesday mix, including the
Glitoris (she of
Tuezgayz and
Church! club night fame), local lady fave
DJ BJ, as well as bluesmaster and vinyl-jockey
Nakia. We hope you are dancing in nothing but
Pride Socks to the diversity of our ranks. The good news is that we are diversifying even deeper. Over the next few weeks, we'll be launching more and welcoming a few new faces to boot. This past Sunday, many
Gay Place Krewe members gathered at
Cheer Up Charlie's to celebrate the Austin release of the
Magnetic Fields documentary,
Strange Powers: Stephin Merritt and the Magnetic Fields. We are so grateful to and were so blown away by the sweet bands
Charlie Belle,
Terri Lord & Mollie Fisher, and the
Fagnetic Fields. The entire night glowed with a show of community and support for independent film. Needless to say, we'll be throwing more parties and partnering with folks who are doing great things. We hope you'll join us. You can "friend" our naughty mascot,
Dandy the Unicorn, on
Facebook for some relevent chatter, but please do check the Gay Place listings and the blog for the best in news and updates. The easiest way to access our blog, our listings, all things gay in the gAyTX (and even that rascal Dandy), is to check out our supergay combo page at
