Friends in need need you now

ODE TO A TOWHEAD & WALK LIKE YOU TALK Oh to think that one follicle of our fine flaxen-haired boy was put out of whack .... well, it just tears us. Sissybutch, aka Bradford Brown, suffered some pretty serious injuries as the result of a dangerous bike crash last week and has been laid up as the medical bills stack up beside him. Bradford, you may or may not know, is the hunky yet wispy bartender at Cheer Up Charlie's with perfectly trimmed facial hair and googly-eyed glasses. You know the one: He looks like a smart, petite, and put-together lumberjack. Recently, he had taken to coordinating and hosting the Sissybutch series of parties at the Chain Drive and Cheer Up. Well, our boy is in need, people. The fine folks at Cheer Up have set up a fund, and you may go online to donate at Plus, the guys at Chain Drive are throwing a benefit art show called 3Piece for which they are currently soliciting artists. If you have three pieces of art to show, please see the listing this week. Also this week in the realm of direct assistance, the AIDS Walk Kickoff Party happens Thursday (9/30) at Whole Foods at Lamar & Fifth. Did you know 87% of the proceeds of this walk go to direct care? Get a team together or hoof it solo, but get out there and raise some money and walk.

The Gay Place loves you; keep those cards and letters comin’.
