Brewer Scottish & Newcastle has scrapped its product Deco, which consists of Kronenbourg 1664 combined with a 25 milliliter shot of absinthe, for fear that it might lead to binge drinking.
The original Texas Medical Practice Act, a version of which is still used to regulate physicians, was signed by Sam Houston in 1837.
In April 1994, Jim Bowden of Austin successfully dove beyond 925 feet to establish a new men's world deep sea depth record. In September 1993, Ann Kristovich, also of Austin, dove to 554 feet, setting a new women's depth record. Both are part of El Proyecto de Buceo Espeleologico México y América Central (www.mexicoprofundo.org).
