Join in Texas AIDS Network's Capitol Days on Feb. 10-11! Participate with the HIV community, people with HIV/AIDS, providers and caretakers, friends and family, in educating our elected representatives about these difficult issues. The resolution of this looming crisis is in the hands of the Texas Legislature, but we must help them to understand the gravity of the situation.
Don't know how to do it? We'll teach you -- it isn't hard! Monday, Feb. 10, will be a training day, from noon until about 5pm at the Scottish Rite Temple, 207 W. 18th. Learn about the important issues, legislative and budget processes, and how to visit your representative or senator.
Then, on Tuesday, put that knowledge to work on Advocacy Day. Meet with legislators and their aides at the Capitol. Provide them with the information they need to respond positively. You elected these guys and gals -- now tell them what's important to you!
Registration is free but required, so T.A.N. can confirm appointments with your legislators and reserve training materials in your name. For more information or to register online, go to the T.A.N. Web site at www.texasaids.net; register by fax 447-1115, or by mail, at Texas AIDS Network, PO Box 2395, Austin, TX 78768.
Hope to see you there!
