The advent of protease inhibitors has radically assisted many people in the management of their HIV infection. Indeed, a significant number are responding so well that they may be able to work again.
The HIV Wellness Center (HWC) is presenting a free informational series for people with HIV who may be considering returning to work and rebuilding their lives after a period of disability. Speakers include attorneys, vocational rehabilitation experts, Social Security professionals, and experts on other relevant topics.
The next seminar in the Renewal series will be held on Friday afternoon, September 19, from 1:30-4:30pm at the Canteen facility on the grounds of the Austin State Hospital, Guadalupe at 41st Street. Topics include the impact of returning to work on Medicare & Medicaid benefits and the services provided by the Capital Area AIDS Legal Project.
Space is limited, so please call HWC at 467-0088 to register.
