Fusebox: Performance Space Sydney's Liveworks Festival

Holy land-down-under, artman! Two virtual events are co-presented by Austin's Fusebox here: The launch event for Imagined Theatres, the magazine that features writings from curators and artistic directors from across the globe about their dreams for the future of performing arts (Fri., Oct. 23, 6:30pm), and the performance ritual by Koori artist and writer SJ Norman and Cherokee writer Joseph M Pierce, consisting of a daily exchange of love letters across the world at sunset each day (Oct 21-25). Also: The premier of Justin Shoulder's new Fusebox-commissioned work. Recommended.

    The Breath Project Festival

The Breath Project's Virtual Fall Festival features a selection of the eight-minute-and-46-second theatrical works, all created by BIPOC artists, that exist on TBP Archive. The artists who submitted pieces to this living time capsule have striven to capture something of this moment in history. Each performance of the Festival will feature different pieces from the Archive, as well as live commentary by TBP curators, and a Q&A with the artists, immediately following the performance. And representing Austin within this fierce and many-peopled anthology of works? Those unstoppable Rude Mechs. Note: While the Festival is free, every dollar that you donate to this event will be given directly to the contributing artists and volunteer curators.
    Oct. 24-25. Free.

Zach Theatre: Songs Under The Stars

These "socially distant outdoor concerts, performed on the People's Plaza outside of the Topfer at ZACH," where you sit in "pods" and cabanas under the beautiful Austin sky, are cabaret-like events, see? And Chanel, the star of London’s Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, closes out this series with a tribute to the female vocalists who shaped her (Nov. 5-8. Thu.-Sat., 7:30pm; Sun., 2:30pm).
    Thursdays-Sundays. Through Nov. 8. $70 for a two-person pod.
