    Book of Will

Lauren Gunderson's excellent comedy features William Shakespeare's friends and fellow actors in The King's Men company doing whatever it takes to make sure that true versions of the Bard's plays survive – by compiling the First Folio, thwarting all the tailcoat-riding bastardized versions, faithfully recapturing the words that shaped their lives. Directed by Lara Toner Haddock for Austin Playhouse. And, prithee, what did our reviewer think of the show?

    Hamilton

This, in case you somehow didn't know (and please accept our sincere congratulations on finally waking up from that years-long coma, yo, it's good to have you back), is Lin-Manuel Miranda's hip-hop musical about America's Founding Father Alexander Hamilton. Brought to town by the good people of Broadway in Austin, it's a phenomenon that's worthy of its endless hype, and they say tickets are possibly still available if you were born on a full moon, the wind is coming in from the northeast, and the Westlake sibyl dances a clockwise tarantella during consultation. Or, better: See the website right here for the show's two-days-before ticket lottery.
    May 28-June 16. Tue.-Fri., 8pm; Sat., 2 & 8pm; Sun., 1 & 7pm. $79-539.

    Shakespeare at Ramsey Park: Cymbeline

Something for Nothing Theater presents this Shakespearean romance with just five actors playing all 32 characters, distilling theatre to its most basic elements: bodies moving in space, creating a story that comes to life in the spectators’ imaginations. Gonna be, we reckon, a whole lotta Shakesin' going on – directed by Deb Streusand right there in the great outdoors. Bring a blanket or chairs, pack a picnic, invite some friends, and join the fun.
    Through June 22. Thu.-Sat., 8pm. Free.
