    Lunar New Year – Year of the Dog Party

    See FB for what's happening each weekend. It's all gone to the dogs at this epic queer and POC happy hour celebrating the 2018 Lunar New Year. Bring yer four-legged bestie to CUC for a doggo photobooth, on-site adoptions from Austin Humane Society, lit DJs, drink specials, drag, and more. Furry costumes strongly encouraged.

    We're here, we're queer, and we're not going anywhere. For the anniversary of last year's queer dance freakout protesting bathroom bills and anti-LGBTQ legislation, the party planners are taking the fight to the steps of the Capitol to encourage a blue wave in state politics.

    HavenCon 4: A Cosmic Journey

    Texas' first and only queer, geek, and gaymer convention returns for its final year. Expect four days (or one, if you choose) of epic nerdiness, cosplay, drag, and loads more. This year, celebrity guests include Tracee Cocco (Star Trek) and Daniel Newman (The Walking Dead). Fest organizers announced this will be the last year for HavenCon, so get out and get weird while you can!

    PFLAG Austin Deidre Furr Essay Prize for LGBTQ Students

    Calling all Central Texas (queer/trans/gender diverse) high schoolers. PFLAG's essay contest returns! Write 500 to 1,000 words on: What challenges LGBTQ+ high school students face in romantic relationships. First place takes $500 cash (second = $200, third = $100).
