    Downtown Boys, US Weekly, SXSW

At a packed SXSW day show in March, Downtown Boys vocalist Victoria Ruiz screamed, “A wall is just a wall and nothing more at all!” That border-erasing track leads off the Providence group’s third album, August’s Cost of Living (Sub Pop). Basement hardcore with sax and bilingual shouts of queer and Latino perspectives, Downtown Boys are a band America needs immediately. Austin’s US Weekly makes a perfect pairing.

    Henry IV

Shakespeare? Of course. But this kingly classic is directed by Beth Burns for the Hidden Room, is based on a new adaptation by Dr. Ralph Alan Cohen, and features a cast worth shouting about infused with a rowdy glam-rock aesthetic. Which means that this ain't your great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather's Henry IV, this is your chance to see the Bard's work presented with incomparable theatrical power and style. Bonus: live music from Shoulders' Todd Kassens.
    Through Oct. 1. Thu.-Sat., 8pm; Sun., 5pm. $15-30.
