    Austin Humane Society's Summer Kids Series

    Summer sessions will take Humane Heroes on an epic adventure to learn what it means to care for a pet of their own and explore ways to help animals in need. The beloved Teddy Bear surgery is back for two sessions, and an outdoor movie night screens June 23. It all culminates in graduation Aug. 3.

    Other Worlds Screenplay Contest

    Other Worlds Film Festival's eighth annual screenwriting contest, part of its mission to encourage work in science fiction and horror, is accepting submissions. New this year is the "under 18" category for young'uns starting to learn the craft. Early-bird deadline is March 31; entry fees increase with each following deadline (each month until August).

    SOLD OUT: Family Clean Creek Camp

    Parents and kids ages 9-14 will explore a creek, beautify Lady Bird Lake, and spelunk in a local cave while learning about plants and critters. Register for one or all three days.
