    AISD Launches New Support Web Pages

    Austin ISD has launched new web pages full of resources, FAQs, and instructions to support Community Learning Spaces and caregivers as students begin learning remotely for the first four weeks of school. Community Learning Spaces are facilitated by community organizations, groups of parents, faith-based organizations, or public entities that provide in-person support to students during times of remote off-campus instruction, and you can find one online if needed.

    AISD Produce Boxes

    Austin ISD will continue to provide free, local Farm Fresh Boxes from the Common Market Texas through October 7. Boxes feature a variety of Texas-grown vegetables and are available at no cost to families with children under the age of 19, and are available until they run out. Children may accept the boxes, or they will be provided to the adults accompanying children or with documentation of the children they are picking meals up for.

    Art Scared

    The San Marcos Art League is seeking elementary to high school students for a temporary public art installation designed for windows of participating establishments on the historic downtown square. Kids will paint a: section of a designated window on Sat., Oct. 24, with a Halloween-themed image.

    HSEM Calendar Contest

    The city's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management invites Travis County students in second through fifth grades to submit artwork for the first Emergency Preparedness Calendar. Themes include family emergency preparedness actions, Central Texas severe weather conditions, and man-made disasters.

    YMCA E-Sports Gaming Leagues

    The Y will offer kids ages 8 and up an opportunity to compete in two of the world’s most popular games – Rocket League and League of Legends. Matches will be held on Saturdays beginning Oct. 3, and your team will play together virtually from home.
