  • Beatles Full Moon Concert in the Dark

    On the April Full Moon, come set intentions and indulge in the mesmerizing allure of live acoustic music performed by world-class musicians, surrounded by the warm glow of candlelight. Its a different kind of concert, that begins and ends in darkness, with music and a poem or two surrounding and soothing you. Audience members will be given the choice of bringing their own yoga mats and/or pillows to gaze at the shadows on the ceiling. A circle of chairs will be provided.

    HAAM Day

    The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians' biggest fundraiser of the year has a goal of collecting $1.2 million, which supports health care services for thousands in Austin's music community, and they need your help now more than ever. More than 100 bands will perform on HAAM Day, so tune in on TV or livestream. Tons of local businesses are donating portions of their proceeds that day, so before going out, check the list of supporting venues. An online auction has dozens of cool items on offer, including a Cajun dinner party with Marcia Ball and Gordon Fowler, autographed guitars, ACL passes, and lots more. Whichever way you choose to support HAAM, know that your contribution keeps the heart of Live Music Capital of the World beating.

      Black Food Week

      The Austin Justice Coalition continues the celebration of Austin's new and long-standing Black-owned restaurants, this week featuring a plethora of goodness from: Mr. Catfish on Mon., Sept. 13; both Gossip Shack locations on Tue., Sept. 14; Country Boyz Fixins on Wed., Sept. 15; Banana Island on Thu., Sept. 16; Y'alls and 11 Degree Daiquiris on Fri., Sept. 17; Kasian Boil on Sat., Sept. 18; and finishing gloriously with Hoover's Cooking and Down South Cajun Eats on Sun., Sept. 19.

      Easy Tiger East: Tiki Tuesday

      Yes, yes, we know everyone's waiting for that Tiki Tatsu-ya to open on South Lamar. For real. But we also know this Tiger, at the very least, will tide us over until then, with tiki-forward favorites like the Tiger Typhoon and Tiger Shark cocktails – not to mention pulled pork sliders and that grilled-pineapple Hawaiian burger – to take your Tuesday night to the islands.

      Shoal Creek Social

      Celebrate the beauty of Shoal Creek with two weeks of fun and education, including a fundraiser, hangouts, and a scavenger hunt. Hangouts are scheduled for Saturdays, 9am-1pm, at Duncan Park and Northwest District Park, and will include lots of family fun like games and tours. Throughout the social, contribute to help reach the $25k fundraising goal, and learn about the area by finding items on the scavenger hunt like flora & fauna, structures, and natural features.

      ZilkerBark Tacos & Doggos

      The only thing that makes Taco Tuesday more terrific is dogs. So ZilkerBark is bringing the two together for a fun evening with local tacos, bevs, select vendors, and photos – there's an adorable custom set ready for canine models to pose in and photogs will take some great shots to make available for purchase. Plus, Austin Humane Society will be on hand with some adoptables.
