    Levitation

    Right before Halloween, Levitation haunts Downtown music venues Antone's, Empire Control Room & Garage, Hotel Vegas, Mohawk, Parish, Elysium, 13th Floor, and Stubb's, expanding this year to two new satellite venues: Southwest Austin electronic music destination Concourse Project and South Austin multistage event center Far Out Lounge, host of April's Psych Fest. The four-day festival includes performances from acts such as Black Angels, High on Fire, Brian Jonestown Massacre, Dandy Warhols, Unwound, Badbadnotgood, Flying Lotus, and dozens more.

    2023 Legacy Business Month

    Preservation Austin's inaugural Legacy Business Month is designed to encourage Austinites to celebrate and support the institutions that define so much of Austin’s culture. Pick up a passport to guide your way through 13 local businesses that have been in operation for 20 years or more, such as Peter Pan Mini-Golf, the Paramount Theatre, and Cisco’s, and show your love to some of Austin's most iconic treasures.

    City Council Calls for Municipal Civil Service Commission Applications

    Qualified individuals are sought to serve on the five-member volunteer commission that makes recommendations on human resources actions for covered city employees. Time commitment varies but is around 20 hours per month, and applicants must be qualified voters and Austin residents.

    Fresh for Less Mobile Markets

    This program from the city of Austin, run by Farmshare Austin, has opened new market locations. There are now six weekly markets around town that sell Texas-grown produce, eggs, honey, and other groceries all at reduced prices. Most major cards are accepted at these markets and if you are a SNAP customer, you can also use your Lone Star card and Double Up Food Bucks. Locations and schedules are subject to change, so check the current info online to find one near you.

    Frost Bank welcomes you to drop off small appliances, printers, computers, laptops, VCRs, miscellaneous wires, metal items, and anything with a plug (with the exception of CRT or old-style TVs). Services will be provided by the Junkluggers.

    The two bodies will meet to discuss changes to the Land Development Code: allowing up to three housing units on single-family properties; revising regulations that apply to properties with two housing units; and removing restrictions on the number of unrelated adults living in a housing unit.
