    Austin Empty Bowl Project

    The need is greater than ever, and all proceeds from this event will benefit Central Texas Food Bank and Meals on Wheels Central Texas. Visit the online store for Sam Hurt's special COVID T-shirt or big beautiful tote bag, the AEBP cookbook, Nancy Elder quilt raffle tickets, online concert tickets, and the online silent auction link. The silent auction includes everything from bowls for you and your dog to restaurant gift certificates. You can also make a tax-deductible donation. For every $25 donated, an empty bowl will be added to food boxes distributed by the Central Texas Food Bank or Meals on Wheels Central Texas.

    Texans Can Academies Thanksgiving Food Drive

    No one should be without a Thanksgiving meal this year. Using an Amazon wish list, those in the giving mood can easily purchase items for Texans Can Academies students and have them shipped directly to the school for distribution in Thanksgiving baskets for students to take home.     WIFT Hunt ATX

    You probably know about some of the local filming locations for Dazed and Confused, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Grindhouse, Friday Night Lights, and Office Space, but Women in Film & Television Austin is challenging you to visit them all. They've put together a handy map so you can hunt them all down, and to enter their scavenger hunt contest, post a selfie using #WIFTHuntATX and tag WIFT, or send it via email. You can also visit locations that aren't on the map if you're in the know. There are tons of cool prizes from local vendors, and all participants get a discount at the Gas Station in Bastrop.     City Announces Changes to Rent Relief Program

    The city of Austin is announcing changes to expand the Relief of Emergency Needs for Tenants (RENT) assistance program for income-eligible Austin renters who have experienced a COVID-19-related income loss. The RENT program will provide up to six months' rent, including current, future, and/or overdue rent; conduct a random drawing weekly until year's end or funds are expended; and allow a one-time certification of eligibility, rather than monthly.
