  • The Amazing Acro-Cats: Keep It Weird in Austin!

    The Acro-Cats tour supports Rock Cats Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Rock Cats Rescue is focused on saving cats "One Click at a Time" through cat welfare, rescue, and adoption. The Acro-Cats show promotes the importance of bonding and training cats with positive reinforcement, while also finding homes for rescued cats.

    Several major migratory flyways pass through Texas. Every spring and fall, millions of birds pass through the state. Many birds fly at night, but can become disoriented by bright lights. Texans can help solve this problem by turning off non-essential lights late at night during the peak of migratory season.

    Coach DJ’s Memorial Bench-a-Thon

    This virtual event will honor the memory of beloved Coach DJ Cedent, who passed in 2019. Proceeds will benefit Austin Simply Fit’s scholarship fund, to be given to select AISD student athletes entering college in the fall. Participants will film themselves completing their best one rep max bench press and submit via email or social media.

    Residents 18 years of age and older can arrive without an appointment. Pre-registering online is not required but highly encouraged to help save time.     Hill Country Run Motorcycle Rally

    More than just a motorcycle rally, this Optimist Club of Fredericksburg event is three days of food, music, and riding in the beautiful Hill Country. Highlights include a barbecue dinner, cowboy breakfast, all-day live music, and the Hill Country Road Trip, which includes prize drawings along the route. Proceeds go to the Optimist Club's ongoing youth programs in Fredericksburg.

    Back for the 18th year, Maudie’s Moonlight Margarita Run brings two of Austin’s favorites together: running and margaritas! You can complete your 5K anytime through May 31, and a drive-through packet pickup party will be held on June 4, including yummy Maudie's chips & dips and margaritas. Each dollar raised benefits the Trail Foundation.

    Ben McReynolds has donated his extensive and unique collection to the museum. It will be on view for a year along with the permanent collection that includes artifacts from La Belle, the French ship discovered in Matagorda Bay; the story of ranching on the coast; and more than 13,000 years of Texas history.

This is the time to get the freshest oysters as fishermen come into the Rockport/Fulton Harbor around 4-5pm. The annual Fulton Oyster Festival has been canceled for this year, but there are still plenty of oysters available at local markets and restaurants.
