    Out of Bounds Comedy Festival

Look, it's not all about the improv, OK? That is to say, yes, it's hella about improv, the whole looooong weekend is lousy with improv – with amazing troupes from all over the country attending and performing – but there's also a sweet array of sketch comedy and stand-up comedy and just the naturally occurring comedy that ensues as hundreds and hundreds of professionals and fans converge on the ATX for the seven days of this 16th annual festival of staged (and frequently brilliant) shenanigans. Note: The epicenter of this event is The Hideout, but it's also happening in venues all over the city. At ColdTowne. At Spider House Ballroom. At The New Movement. At the Velveeta Room. With Chickspeare L.A. With White Women. With The Defiant Thomas Brothers. With Witch Taint. With Katie Rich & Holly Laurent. With so! Much! More! (Which is why we recommend getting one of those All-Fest Passes.) See right here for details.
    $5-10 per show.

    Out of Bounds Comedy Festival

Hey, guess what's happening here? A kaffeeklatsch? A demonstration of modern filtration devices used by Dow Chemicals? No – it's the goddamn OOB, friendo! And the Velv's the epicenter for OOBish stand-up showcases all festival long. And they're all don't-miss-it, really; but we're especially liking the national line-up of comics Holly Lynnea, Trixx, Emily Catalano, Brooke Cartus, Liz Greenwood, and Neeraj Srinivasan – hosted by Valerie Nies on Thursday at 9pm.
