This here's the official fundraiser and kickoff party of the West Austin Studio Tour. Get you a 2017 WEST catalog, preview the work of nearly 300 WEST artists before the tour gets under way on the following Saturday, and – oh yes – enjoy some of the city's best food and drinks (La Condesa! Tito's! Cafe Nó Sé! Eastciders! Thai Fresh! Chameleon Cold Brew! So much more!) while you hobnob with all the milling artlovers and support this superlative Big Medium event in its sixth year. Thu., May 11, 7-10pm (2017), $65 ($110, couples)

    • It's … it's … HIDEOUTRAGEOUS!

There's a stage upstairs, there's a stage downstairs, there's coffee all over the place and all sorts of shows here. This Thursday brings you the Threefer and Free Fringe of improv, and you can check out that award-winning Parallelogramophonograph (hot off their European tour) and the fancy-ass Big Bash and more on Friday, and dig the Goonies-flavored goodness of How I Saved the World Over Summer Vacation on Saturdays, right after the Eighties-evoking police drama of Buddy Cop and right before that extemporaneous donnybrook that mortals call Maestro. See website for more. $5-15

The Hideout Theatre, 617 Congress, 512/443-3688
