SoCo Gets a Bookstore

South Congress Books (1608 S. Congress) soft launched three weeks ago, and it's relied so far on word of mouth and a Facebook page to attract bookhounds. It's working. When I popped in on the Fourth of July, a blast of outdoor heat every few minutes announced a new customer coming in off the street and into the cozy, congenial space, which traffics in rare and used books. There are also T-shirts with the store's logo for sale already; buy one now, and you'll look extra in the know at the official grand opening on Saturday, July 9, wherein all merch is 10% off and, the clerk promised, "starving musicians" will provide entertainment.
