The Things He Carried: Tim O'Brien's archives find a home

The Harry Ransom Center announced on Tuesday the acquisition of National Book Award winner and frequent Vietnam scribe Tim O'Brien's archives. O'Brien, who teaches writing up the road at Texas State University, is best known for his seminal 1980 work, The Things They Carried. The HRC, which already boasts sizable holdings in war-related literature (including works from Norman Mailer, Ernest Hemingway, and Leon Uris), will house more than 25 boxes from O'Brien's estate, including original manuscripts, personal correspondence, and O'Brien's military medals.
