This year, three local dancemakers received one of the nation's highest arts honors, the National Endowment for the Arts Choreographers' Fellowships: José Luis Bustamante of Sharir Dance Company, Llory Wilson of Tallulah, and Dianne McPherson (aka Dunya). At three, Austin ties Seattle in the number of dance fellows, and only New York boasts more. But alas, these fellowships and other artist grants will go by the wayside under the restructuring or destruction of the NEA.
