Want to treat your sweetheart to the first-ever concert in the Long Center’s 2,400-seat Dell Hall? If you’re reading this the day that the Chronicle hits the streets and are as swift as winged Cupid, you can do it. The center is hosting a public concert on Thursday, Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day, to help set the acoustical levels for the hall prior to the free Sneak Peek Weekend and public open house that it will be hosting March 6-9. (That four-day preview will feature free performances and tours, with the members of the Los Angeles-based MASS Ensemble bringing their remarkable blend of music and architecture to the new facility.) The concert will consist of a 90-minute set by the stunning Antone’s House Band All-Stars, with none other than Malford Milligan on vocals, David Grissom and Derek O’Brien on guitars, “Frosty” Smith on drums, Larry Fulcher on bass, and Riley Osborne on keyboards. Tickets are a mere $5 apiece and may be obtained by calling 474-LONG or going to www.thelongcenter.org.
