It’s a convergence of Austin creatives, showing what they’ve accomplished in the past & the projects they’re working on now.
It’s an event where only a few of the people involved might resent the use of “creative” as a goddam noun.
It’s a worldwide phenomenon, this Pecha Kucha thing that started in Japan and now sparks up all over the globe. It’s definitely an opportunity for another popularly verbed noun – networking – and this time ’round it’s got a faint glow of Fusebox Festival to add a bit of extra glamor to its revelations.
The Chronicle‘s redoubtable Arts Editor Robert Faires gave us the basics of the event here in 2011. The presenters at this 14th iteration of the Austin version of Pecha Kucha will give you the basics of what they do.
Those presenters are:
Anthony Ortiz (musician)
Adam Voorhes (photographer)
John Spong (writer)
Tahila Shireem Chavez Mintz (photographer)
Jason Lawson (artist)
Spike Gillespie (writer)
David Pulkingham (musician)
Lars Stanley (metal arts, architect)
Allyson Garro (designer)
Joshua Bingaman (designer)
Doors open at 7:30, the presentations start at 8:20
at the Fusebox Festival Hub at 1100 E. Fifth.
