20th Anniversary Celebration with Peter Bay and the Festival Chamber Orchestra

Friday, July 8, 7:30pm
All-Mozart program, with the Piano Concerto in A major, featuring Michelle Schumann on piano, and Concerto for Flute and Harp in C major, with Seetha Shivaswamy, flute, and Elaine Barber, harp, conducted by the Austin Symphony's Peter Bay.


The Bad Plus

Saturday, July 9, 7:30pm
The jazz trio that Rolling Stone called "as badass as highbrow gets" makes its third appearance at ACMF. As always, the program will be announced from the stage.


Marian Anderson String Quartet

Sunday, July 10, 3pm
This ensemble of African-American women, now in its 27th year, plays Turina's A Bullfighter's Prayer, Mendelssohn's String Quartet No. 2, and McNair's Follow the Drinking Gourd.


Vienna Piano Trio

Friday, July 15, 7:30pm
Pianist Stefan Mendl, violinist David McCarroll, and cellist Matthias Gredler have a reputation for exuberance and style, which they'll bring here to a program of piano trios by Haydn, Ravel, and Brahms, plus Bridge's Phantasie Trio in C minor.


Austin Shakespeare & Festival Artists

Saturday, July 16, 7:30pm
A cast led by André Martin and Liz Beckham perform scenes from Shakespeare's Henry VIII in period costumes by Jennifer Rose Davis. Between scenes, an ensemble including Michelle Schumann, Leigh Mahoney, Christabel Lin, Ames Asbell, and Douglas Harvey will play selections by Beethoven, Schubert, Dvorak, Borodin, Smetana, and others.


Takács Quartet

Sunday, July 17, 3pm
This esteemed group, which has been in residence at the University of Colorado, Boulder for more than three decades, performs string quartets by Beethoven, Dvorak, and Shostakovich.


The Poet Sings: Emily Dickinson

Friday, July 22, 7:30pm
A reprise of the splendid Conspirare program from the fall with soprano Sonja DuToit Tengblad, pianist Michelle Schumann, and tenor Dann Coakwell performing over 30 musical settings of Dickinson poems, all composed in the 21st century.


Schumann Chamber Players

Saturday, July 23, 7:30pm
Three local musicians with a history of playing well together – violinist Sandy Yamamoto, cellist Amy Levine-Tsang, and pianist Michelle Schumann – reunite as the Schumann Chamber Players to perform Arensky's Piano Trio No. 1, Shostakovich's Piano Trio No. 2, and Rachmaninov's Vocalise.


Shanghai Quartet

Sunday, July 24, 3pm
The 2016 ACMF closes with a program from this ensemble of rare elegance, performing Bridge's Three Novelettes for String Quartet, Grieg's String Quartet in G minor, and Mendelssohn's String Quartet No. 6.
