Administrative advice and legal aid for artists

Matthew Hinsley, executive director of the Austin Classical Guitar Society, will read from his new book, Creativity to Community: Arts Nonprofit Success One Coffee at a Time, Sunday, March 27, 7pm, at BookPeople, 603 N. Lamar. I don't know when the perpetually busy Dr. Hinsley found time to pen such a comprehensive nuts-and-bolts guide, but he did, and any artists, administrators, or board members interested in building their arts organizations will find value in his eminently sensible advice.

UT Law Students for the Arts will host a clinic offering free legal advice to artists Thursday, March 31, 6-8:30pm, at the offices of Fulbright & Jaworski, 600 Congress #2400. Local attorneys, with assistance from University of Texas law students, will provide 30-minute consultations for any artists with legal questions, though artists must register in advance.
