Right on the heels of the East Austin Studio Tour comes the Bouldin Creek Studio Tour – a much more modest but still appealing opportunity to visit local artisans and artists in their natural habitats and score some outstanding creative work in the process. Unlike its bigger sibling to the east, this tour is just for four hours on a Saturday, but that should still give you plenty of time to cover the seven studios in this South Austin neighborhood just south of the river and west of South First. Enjoy paintings, drawings, and photography from Brian and Stella Alesi; limited-edition handmade jewelry from Stephanie Lindsey of Baby Jane, Leslie Bonnell of Glitzkrieg Studio, Rachel Lavin of Pio, and Andrea Sher-Leff of the Redheaded Goddess; custom Western and Americana-themed clothing from Kathie Sever of Ramonster; and mixed-media assemblages of paper, ink, wood, and wax called "cakes" from illustrator Shannon Lowry of Round Robin Press. Don't you have someone on your holiday gift list who needs some handmade Bouldin Creek beauty?
The second annual Bouldin Creek Studio Tour takes place Saturday, Dec. 1, 10am-2pm. For more information, visit www.bouldincreekstudiotour.com.
