Playwright Update

Playwrights Dan Dietz and Colin Denby Swanson are among the 18 semi-finalists for the 2004-5 P73 Playwriting Fellowship , and Dietz’s Tilt Angel has been selected for full production at New Jersey Repertory Theater next season

Following up on last week’s story about playwrights Dan Dietz and Colin Denby Swanson: In addition to their link as artistic directors for Austin Script Works, both are among the 18 semifinalists for the 2004-2005 P73 Playwriting Fellowship from Page 73 Productions, a New York City-based theatre company producing work by emerging playwrights. The P73 Playwriting Fellowship provides a $2000 stipend, a minimum of $5000 in production support, and additional nonfinancial resources to help the writer better establish his or her playwriting career. And that reading of Dietz’s Tilt Angel by New Jersey Repertory Company went well enough that the company has selected the play for full production in its upcoming season.
