Austin Theatre Critics Table 1999-2000 Winners

The Austin Theatre Critics Table presented its eighth annual awards for achievement in the Austin arts in a lively ceremony at the Continental Club

On Monday, May 29, the Austin Theatre Critics Table presented its eighth annual awards for achievement in the Austin arts in a lively ceremony at the Continental Club, 1315 S. Congress. The members of the Table -- an informal association of local arts writers who gather monthly for lunch -- pride themselves on the informality of their awards ceremony, but the event's change of venue to the legendary south Austin club took that looseness and informality to a new high. The awards recognized achievements in theatre, dance, classical music, and the visual arts from the period May 1999-April 2000. Critics taking part in the selection and presentation of this year's awards were Michael Barnes, Jamie Smith Cantara, and Jean Claire van Ryzin, Austin American-Statesman; and Robert Faires and Sarah Hepola, The Austin Chronicle.
