Sunday, June 25, 8am-1pm; free admission Guy Clark was right when he said, "There's only two things that money can't buy, and that's love and homegrown tomatoes!" And so the folks at Kerbey Lane Cafes invite you to their first annual Tomato Fest on Saturday, June 25, behind the South Austin location. Kerbey Lane was the first local restaurant to work directly with a local grower, Cora Lamar at Lamar Farms, to provide a a vine-ripened crop specifically for them.

The festival will feature speakers on a variety of tomato topics plus a tomato contest and a tomato-based recipe contest. Prizes, T-shirts, lots of food featuring vine-ripened tomatoes, and a live broadcast of KLBJ-AM's Gardening Naturally will round out the morning's events. There will also be a small Farmer's Market featuring great organic and/or pesticide-free produce from Craftsman Farm, Boggy Creek farm, San Gabriel Farm, Harbison Farm, and Prehan Farm.
