As we go to press Wednesday night, Cedar Park's own Texas Stars have begun a much-needed seven-game home stand. Eleven of the Stars' remaining 18 games will be played on their home ice at the Cedar Park Center. This is welcome news considering they are 11 points shy of the eighth and final playoff spot in the AHL Western Conference. For out-of-towners unfamilar with the Stars, they are the NHL's Dallas Stars equivalent to an MLB AAA team and feature exciting top-notch gameplay in a state-of-the-art arena. Friday and Saturday's games vs. the San Antonio Rampage are part of Military Appreciation Weekend. The Stars will be donning camouflage jerseys which fans will be able to bid on (for charity) during a silent auction on the concourse. Friday night is the fan favorite 3-2-1 Night – $3 domestic drafts, $2 sodas, and $1 hot dogs. The first 3,000 fans through the gate on Saturday will receive a free Stars camouflage hat. If a Tuesday night game fits your schedule better, be sure to bring an H-E-B brand noperishable food item to get $5 off your ticket for the Stars tilt against the Grand Rapids Griffins. Go Stars!
