High-flying dirt-bike racers invade Cedar Park
By Mark Fagan, Fri., Jan. 27, 2012
Wondering why 150 truckloads of dirt have been moved to Cedar Park? It's to ensure that these dirt-bike racers can wow the crowd with 30-foot leaps as they speed around the track. The first two evenings are for the pros, and the final day is for the amateurs to enjoy the track. Bring a Monster Energy Drink to recycle and your Saturday ticket for admittance to a meet and greet and autograph session with the riders from 5-6pm Saturday afternoon. It's gonna be fast, loud, and probably pretty furious.
Fri.-Sat., Jan. 27-28, 7pm; amateur day: Sun., Jan. 29, 10am. Cedar Park Center, 2100 Avenue of the Stars, Cedar Park, 800/745-3000. Spectator for pros: $25 ($10, kids). Amateurs: $15 ($10, kids). www.arenacross.com
