So many reasons to see the Texas Stars this weekend
By Mark Fagan, Fri., Nov. 11, 2011
Regardless of your thoughts on U.S. foreign policy, our fine men and women in the military need all the support we can offer. For both games against the Abbotsford Heat this weekend, Texas Stars players will wear special stars and stripes uniforms which will be sold off in a silent auction (alongside other items) on the concourse of the Cedar Park Center. More than 1,100 tickets have been donated to military personnel for these games. On Friday, the first 2,500 fans will receive a free Travis Morin player magnet and enjoy $3 domestic draft beer, $2 sodas, and $1 hot dogs. On Saturday, the first 2,500 fans will receive a stars and stripes hat and Family Four Pack tickets can be purchased: four tickets, four hot dogs, and four sodas starting at $48. Immediately following the Saturday game, and included in the price of admission, the University of Texas hockey club will face the Texas A&M hockey club. Note earlier start times for both games.
Vs. Abbotsford: Fri., Nov. 11, 7pm; Sat., Nov. 12, 6pm. Cedar Park Center, 2100 Avenue of the Stars, Cedar Park, 512/600-5000. $10-70. www.texasstarshockey.com.
