Champions League group stage ends next week, and more

The NCAA Women's Final Four is this weekend, at Aggie Soccer Stadium in College Station. The semifinals are Friday, Dec. 7: Florida State-Notre Dame at 4pm; UCLA-USC at 6:30pm. The championship final is Sunday, Dec. 9, 1pm. See www.aggieathletics.com for ticket info. If you can't make it to Aggieland, all three games will be shown live on ESPN2 and ESPNU. The Men's Final Four is the following weekend.

Next week, Dec. 11-12, marks the end of the Champions League group stage. ESPN2's games of the week are Liverpool at Marseille on Tuesday, Lyon at Glasgow Rangers on Wednesday, both at 1:45pm. In each case, the winner advances to the knockout stage; the loser drops out.

The draw was held this week for next summer's European Champion­ship. Group C is brutal: Italy, France, Netherlands, and Romania. Details online.
