High drama in Holland

Walk on, walk on, with hope in your heart,

And you'll never walk alone.

Mersey madness on Tuesday, as Liverpool made a fourth-minute goal stand up against prohibitive favorite Chelsea in an absolutely electric atmosphere to advance to their first European championship final in 20 years. Liverpool's Anfield Road is one of the world's great stadiums, and hearing a full house in full throat, belting out their signature "You'll Never Walk Alone" at game's end, was a goose-bump experience, even on TV (full lyrics at "Soccer Watch Online").

High drama the next night in Holland, as well, as an injury-time strike broke the hometown fans' hearts and let AC Milan survive PSV Eindhoven on away goals, despite being roundly outplayed and losing 3-1 on the night. The final is May 25 in Istanbul.
