With just a week or two left in most of the major European leagues, several more titles were decided last weekend, with Werder Bremen (Germany), Ajax Amsterdam (Holland), Valencia (Spain), and Fenerbahçe (Turkey) clinching their leagues' top spots. Notable failures: preseason favorites Bayern Munich and Real Madrid bowed out with disappointing losses to kill off disappointing seasons. Of the top leagues, only France's Ligue 1 remains undecided, with Lyon, Monaco, and Paris St. Germain locked in a three-way battle at the top. Still to be decided, however, are numerous down-the-table battles for teams hoping to qualify for next year's Euro competitions or to avoid relegation to a lower division. See "Soccer Watch" online for a full list of titlists and Euro qualifiers.
