Families looking to beat the summer heat, kids in tow, will have an alternative to backyard sprinklers this summer: Austin's new miniature water park on the Eastside, Bartholomew Pool, will open on June 6. When the former Bartholomew Pool was shut down due to a structural failure, Austin's Parks and Recreation department took the opportunity to up their water game, outfitting the newly designed pool with attractions including fountains, slides, a diving board, and balancing lily pads. Bartholomew pool is located at 1800 E. 51st Street. Entry fees are consistent with all Austin municipal pools: free for children under 1 year; $1 for resident children 1-11 years; $2 for resident juniors ages 12-17 years; $3 for resident adults 18-62 years; and $1 for resident seniors, 62 years and older. Daily entry fees vary for non-residents."
