Skateboarders, BMX bikers, and more than 1,000 extreme sports fans turned out in front of the Capitol building Wednesday evening to show their support for Austin’s candidacy to host the next round of the X Games, essentially the olympics for extreme sports, a distinction that would bring the city roughly $50 million, plus a whole boatload of bros, dudes, and dudettes, each summer for the next three years.
