Occupy Austin celebrates its One-Year Anniversary on October 6, 2012 at City Hall with a Popular Assembly and other activities. The group later gathered at Highland Mall for a "Tent City Rises" march to an abandoned Home Depot owned by the city. Three participants were detained by police and given Criminal Trespass Warnings for parking in the lot. Another was arrested for camping in a tent. The city used the building to house those who were left without a place to stay when the group's encampment was evicted from City Hall.
