Memo says detective acknowledged "running fast and loose" in burglary investigations

Austin Police Chief Art Acevedo on May 18 handed Detective Richard Muñoz an indefinite suspension for dishonesty and for failing to properly conduct burglary investigations. According to a disciplinary memo, Muñoz admitted that he was "running fast and loose doing investigations." Still, Muñoz will appeal the suspension, which is the civil service equivalent of termination.
