Police are asking for help finding the person who shot and killed 22-year-old Ricky Lynn Shepherd Jr. (to the right of the woman in this photo) at the intersection of Decker Lane and Loyola Lane around 11:30pm on Friday, June 29. Police say Shepherd and his fiancée got into a verbal dispute with the occupants of a Chevy Suburban (allegedly the four men to the left) that almost hit the couple as they walked through the parking lot of a convenience store at 6575 Decker Ln. Minutes later, while the couple was sitting in their car at a red light, the Suburban pulled up next to them; one occupant fired several shots into Shepherd's car, killing him. Police say there were several people inside the Chevy, which they describe as an "older-model, dark colored" SUV with a tan stripe on the bottom of each side. Anyone with info about the incident should call the APD homicide tip line at 477-3588 or Crime Stoppers at 472-8477.
