Last November, environmentalism and religion merged with the Evangelical Environmental Network's "What Would Jesus Drive?" anti-gas-guzzler campaign. On Wednesday, May 28, the campaign will hit Austin to kick off a road tour promoting cleaner transportation. The Rev. Jim Ball of Washington, D.C., will proselytize throughout the Bible Belt as he drives a fuel-efficient Toyota Prius from here back to his home city, trying to make Christians understand the moral relevance of the driving choices they make. He'll be in town through May 31. No specific itinerary has been finalized, but check www.whatwouldjesusdrive.org or call 202/554-1955 for more info.

A "Funeral and Wake for Diverse Media" -- in the wake of the Federal Communication Commission's expected decision to abolish current limits on media concentration -- is planned for Monday, June 2, at 7:30pm at MonkeyWrench Books, 1306 E. North Loop. Speakers will include UT journalism professor Robert Jensen and the Chronicle's Lee Nichols. Learn more at 407-6925.

On Wednesday, June 4, pro-choicers from Lilith: a Fund for Reproductive Equity will host a fundraiser and happy hour at Bertram's Hall above the Clay Pit, 1601 Guadalupe. Enjoy free appetizers, win door prizes, listen to music by Amiee And, and revel in your open-mindedness. Suggested donation is $7. For more info, visit www.lilithfund.org or call 825-0816.
