Lera LynnHave You Met Lera Lynn? (Slow Records)
Probably not. That's the answer implicit in the title of Have You Met Lera Lynn?, which makes sense given that the Athens, Ga., guitarist and songwriter has just begun gathering a fan base. A testament to the staying power of Americana, her debut works best when breaking the nostalgic web of lounge country and dipping into more unbridled territory. The juiced-up "Gasoline" and deep sorrow of "Bobby, Baby" match the shadow of twang with a hint of the contemporary. Lynn's voice is as deep and wild as a forest cave, but you're meeting an artist who's only just beginning to comb through her inspirations to find her own sound. (2:15pm, BMI stage)
