SXSW Picks & Sleepers Intro

One day, the Music portion of South by Southwest will rage for an entire week instead of its current four and a fourth days. Last year, per usual, showcases ran Wednesday through Saturday, but here in 2011, for the first time, the Festival has added performances on Tuesday – a soft opening, so to speak. We’ve handicapped Tuesday this week, and below we tease next week’s SXSW Music supplement with a trio of Wednesday acts. Some 40,000 words of SXSW Music preview hit the streets Wednesday, March 16, but check back at austinchronicle.com before then, because as soon as it’s all sorted and proofed, it goes online – before the issue’s out. We need a digital barker: “Getchyer red-hot Festival preview!”
