The Seas
Let's Fake ItAt its best, the Seas' debut full-length remodels the pop tension of Brian Eno-era Roxy Music, with playful experimentation, sleek guitar hooks, and Nurk's near-constant quivering croon, best captured on opener "French Toast" and catchy, keyboard-driven "W.I.P." More often than not, however, the local quartet treads closer to Brian Ferry's solo career ("A Smart Investment," the brooding "Talk to Me"), out of style and privy to gimmickry.
